Editing Blog: Transitions

Today we added the transitions. We finished filming and had to export our clips. Once all the shots were in iMovie we could start. We put all the shits in order the movie plays out. We looked to see if there was already a pretty smooth transition or not. For the first few scenes we didn’t need any specific transitions. We used some jump-cuts and easy transitions. We wanted it to look as smooth as possible without taking away from the actual clip. We deceived on minimal editing to not make distractions from the plot. For the most part we used fade and jump-cuts.
There was a part of the movie where there was a jump between scenes. At first we didn’t know what to do. We thought about reshooting the two scenes and combine them. However, we weren’t sure if it would match with the time slot so we tried thinking about other options. I came up with the idea of trying different transitions. We looked through a lot of different types of transportations. After we tried the transitions we came together to discuss. Some of us had different opinions but we eventually came to an agreement. We decided to use a jump-cut. The other transitions made the scene confusing.
